Jamie Weese is born and raised in Kansas City, obtaining her Bachelors from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and her law degree from the University of Kansas. While a law student, Jamie assisted with a wide variety of legal issues including estate planning, small business creation, bankruptcy, general litigation, and foreclosures; she soon realized her passion to assist families and entrepreneurs.
Jamie worked for Commerce Trust Company immediately after law school. In 2011 she opened Weese Law Firm to help Kansans with their estate planning and small business needs, and soon expanded the law firm to Missouri. Currently, Jamie is still active in her growing practice and is a frequent presenter on estate planning and probate topics, including continuing education classes for the National Business Institute.
Jamie is active in her community as the Secretary of Heroes United, a charity that exists to support Mid-America Gold Star Families. She also spearheads the annual toy drive for ReVision, a charity that assists the families of incarcerated individuals. Additionally, she is an assistant coach for Girls on the Run at her daughter’s school. In her free time, Jamie enjoys spending time with her husband and children and providing color commentary for any sporting event she is watching.
Lane Pivonka grew up in western Kansas where his family owns a manufacturing business. After graduating from K-State with a degree in Business Management, he returned to work at the family business. His next adventure took him to the Kansas City area where he completed his training as a paramedic. Lane has worked in EMS since 2001.
In 2015, Lane graduated with honors from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law. After graduating from law school, Lane helped clients at Kansas Legal Services in a wide variety of subject matters. He joined Weese Law Firm in 2017 to assist their estate planning clients. As an EMT with Johnson County since 2001, he has first-hand experience with the impact and implementation of various health care documents and directives. This experience is an obvious benefit when discussing the medical content and decisions involved in creating a comprehensive estate plan.
When not working, Lane enjoys spending time hunting, fishing, playing golf and traveling.
